Spotlight On Pokémon!

Hello!
Well, this post is for my school exam, a practical exam, by the way.
I'm gonna simply give out a few bits of my information...
My full name is Jason Knight Rumengan.
My school's Sekolah Budi Utama, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Here's the school's website, right here.
(Strangely, it's inactive when I posted this...)
I'd say that if you have a child, you can place this school as a candidate.
It is pretty good and has grabbed some moments of fame in the local newspaper.
So, well...go ahead and register your child to go to this school, if you'd like.
And it's time to get to the point, which is Pokémon.
Well, a few might say that Pokémon's a thing of the past, but really, it's a great franchise.
Like, seriously, an old Pokémon game (Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, if I'm not mistaken) was the best-selling game for the Game Boy Advance, which is now discontinued and shifted out in favor of the Nintendo DS, which is still active up to now, but it could be discontinued in a few more years, considering that there's the Nintendo 3DS now.
Well, I guess I've shifted to talking about Nintendo handheld consoles...so I'll just go straight to the point.
I'd like to talk about Pokémon's history right here...
But this is all I know and I'd say that there are people who know more.
I remember that Pokémon started in 1996, so it's already about 16 years.
It all started from a person named Satoshi Tajiri.
Like, from what I remembered, it all sprouted from him seeing two boys playing two Game Boy console with a link cable.
(It's a historic console, so I guess this is just normal...)
He just imagined insects crawling from one cable to another or something like that, I think that would be the communication bit of Pokémon which is now a mandatory feature.
Like, he imagined insects because he likes them, or at least that's what I know...
So, from what I remembered, he gathered some friends and put some thought to it and made the first schemes for it.
It was called Capsule Monsters at that time.
Then, they showed it to Nintendo so it could be a game, but they refused the offer.
Afterwards, they didn't just give up.
(Which is what most people do nowadays, and I'm the same...)
They revised the idea and made its name turn into Pocket Monsters.
Then, they showed Nintendo the revised ideas and it was accepted.
Nintendo became the publisher of the idea as a game.
It also does the same thing right now.
And so, Tajiri and his friends got to work.
This was when they made Game Freak, the company responsible for making Pokémon games.
Well, I actually forgot when they made Game Freak...
Was it made when Tajiri had the idea, or was it made when Nintendo green-lighted the idea for it?
Anyways, it wasn't all sugar, spice and everything nice on the whole production.
It was excruciatingly hard, like really hard. It took around six years for them to create the first Pokémon games.
Yep, they started out with two Pokémon games.
Not just one Pokémon game.
This decision was made to support the first idea which would be communicating with friends and trading Pokémon around and around.
They also made the games different in wild Pokémon distribution.
One game would have a certain Pokémon and another won't.
This made the need for players to trade, effectively supporting the idea of communication.
Anyways...like my first statement on top, these Pokémon games made their debut in 1996.
This is also the debut of the entire franchise.
Well, this franchise started in Japan, so it came there first.
Right afterwards, it came to the other continents.
They were called Pocket Monsters Red & Green.
When they wanted to send this over to America, they had a little problem.
(I'm probably underestimating the severity...)
There was another franchise that was called Monster in My Pocket.
See the similarity with Pocket Monsters?
This is what made the problem.
Because of this, they knew that they had to change the name.
They decided to make a portmanteau out of both words which would be the name we know right now -- Pokémon.
It should have been Pockemon, but I guess they stated that it didn't sound right.
Right now, even Japanese copies of Pokémon games don't use Pocket Monsters.
Oh yeah, I'd say something...
Because the first Pokémon games were in the Game Boy, they weren't that good.
Like, they had lots of glitches, like Vanellope of Wreck-It Ralph.
The most popular one would be the Missingno. glitch, shown here in a video.

Not only that, the quality of the game's graphics are terrible, which is shown in that video, but I'll add these extra pictures to support the fact.
Try and compare that with these pictures!
See the difference?
Well, anyways...
Now it's about the franchise, I'm just gonna step out of the whole run of history.
Well, the franchise isn't all about games, unlike The Legend of Zelda, a Nintendo franchise.
It would also have an anime that's currently active with many seasons and movies.
Not only that, there's a whole trading card game too!
This section of the franchise is also still active.
So you can say that the franchise has a lot of active sections.
There was a Trading Figure Game, but that got discontinued.
And also...there's a store dedicated to Pokémon!
It's called a Pokémon Center, much like the omnipresent building that can be found in the games...the Pokémon Center.
It has lots of Pokémon stuff in it...there are also distribution events too.
They're mostly in Japan, and I remember that there are a few Pokémon Centers in America too, but just a few...or they're simply vending machines for Pokémon things.
The vending machines do exist in America.
And for Pokémon fans that want to see them while travelling, then ANA's (All Nippon Airways, a Japanese airline) Pokémon Jets will be your favorite plane.
Like, everything there's all decorated with Pokémon.
Sometimes, ANA also holds distribution events.
They also show the Pokémon anime in the Pokémon Jet, but only special episodes are shown.
And those special episodes are only available for a limited time there...I don't think that they're doing that anymore.
There are about six Pokémon Jets.
Oh, and for America, they hold competitions there, known as the VGC (Video Game Championships).
They also have a competition for the Trading Card Game, but I forgot its name.
They also hold sweepstakes and distribution events, either through Wi-Fi or through game stores like Toys R Us or GameStop.
The same would go with Japan.
Well, right now, the franchise still stands tall, that's for sure.
It should last for a pretty long time.
It has just gotten a new set of games, Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 and Black 2 is in my hands.
Here's the trailer!

Well, I guess that's it for my whole explanation of Pokémon! Thanks, have a nice day and goodbye!
Oh, I just remembered something. The pictures that I posted are from Bulbapedia. Go on and visit it if you'd like to know lots about Pokémon!
And also...I just remembered.
There will be a new Pokémon movie!
I remembered that its name was something like Kyurem and the Swords of Justice...I'm gonna check and place the sneak peek videos.
Uh, actually, it's Kyurem vs. The Sword of Justice, so I made a mistake.

Okay then...I guess this is the real goodbye. Goodbye, have a nice day, and thanks for reading!

Some Great Food!

Hello!
Well, I'm simply going to simply state about what I ate, nothing but that...
It's probably so I can post a topic.
Anyways, I ate some good food a few hours ago.
That was for dinner, by the way.
The website for the restaurant that I visited can be visited here.
The restaurant also has a Twitter account associated with it and its profile can be visited from this link, right here.
If you're planning to go to Yogyakarta, Indonesia...or you are currently at Yogyakarta, come and visit.
The place is very good!
Like, the food there's magnificent, but I guess it's because I'm someone that admires food from the western bit of the Earth.
Lots of flavor and stuff...
But a few don't match with me, to be honest.
Just come over and you might just like it, or maybe you'd love it.
For sure, I came there with my family, of course...along with my father's friend.
We normally go there just to escort a friend there to try the food.
But we could just go there simply because of the food.
Anyways, I'm gonna show the pictures of the food that we ordered there.
I apologize for the low resolution, but it was taken by my Nintendo DSi XL's camera, and you know that it has a low amount of megapixels.
The amount doesn't even reach 1 megapixel.
Well, here they are!
I've listed them based on the time I took them...the older ones come first.

Well, do you think the food of the restaurant delicious when you see this?
When I tried it, it was delicious.
Well, I guess that's it.
In my time, this is already 12:11 AM when I'm writing this sentence.
So, I have got to sleep...
I've got school tomorrow, and I'm the leader, so I can't be exceedingly tired.
Okay, have a nice day, thanks!

Seeing A Friend!

Hello!
Well, sorry for being inactive for quite some time, but I've gotten lazy on updating the blog...
It's also because I've been moving Pokémon around and around for (almost) a whole week.
Well, I went over to Malioboro Mall today...my father had to buy some stuff that will be prizes for a certain event.
I was just walking to the exit when I found my friend along with her family in a book store!
So, well...my mother and father decided to talk for a while...and invite them to lounge around in a little place where I like to eat...it's a family favorite.
Here's the place's Twitter profile, right here.
If you're in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, come and stop by.
That place is good as a place to hang out.
Then, my friend came to my room in my house...well, I used "room" because I live in a hotel. :D
And she played Mario Kart Wii with me...she was the one who miserably lost, being at 12th place all the time, and I was the one that scored the high spots, being at 1st place and finishing at 3rd place all because of a little trick to show off when finishing...I was gonna drift and hit the finish line when drifting and I bumped into a wall instead.
That's why I got third place instead...when I was going to get out of that situation, two AI racers passed the finish line, so I took third place.
Well, I guess that's it, I won't say anything about how good friends we are (me any my friend), nor would I go around and say about a crazy thing that she suddenly did to me in the past...I won't even state anything about relationships...no way.
Okay, have a nice day, thanks.
Goodbye!

A Shining Steel Bird!

Hello!
Well, this is pretty much for a bit of training for the school exam, but it would have an effect on the blog, still.
Anyways...

Ripping And Burning...

Hello!
You might as well wonder as to why I'm posting in the middle of the night...
Well, I'd just say what's going on right now...
My father asked me to rip his whole collection of songs out of audio CDs.
Man, there was a lot of them...but I finally got them into my computer.
It probably has a size of something like 2 or 3 gigabytes in my computer...
Wow, that's a lot of tunes.
Right?
Well, right after that, I was also asked to burn them out.
Talk about a rip and burn job.
Much like this post's title...
Yeah.
Right.
Exactly.
As of now (when this post is being made), I'm almost finished...just one more CD and my work is done.
But still...I wanna look for Bugsy in Viridian Forest, because it's Thursday.
Well, I guess that's all that I can say.
Goodbye and have a nice day.

Taking Some Food Out!

Hello!
Well, today...I was kinda sent out to get some noodles.
Yeah...I was given some money, the list of the things we want...and I went to the restaurant.
And this has been...like the third time this has happened, but it isn't strange, though.
But the thing that's weird, the second time I did this...I ran into a problem.
One of the things that we wanted didn't come included...yeah, the cook forgot to put it in.
So, this third time...I was given the food that was forgotten...because we ordered the same food as the one that was forgotten, well...I got that one for free, because I already paid for it before...like I said, they forgot about it.
So that's what happened.
Well, I'm simply putting in stuff that has happened for the day to keep the blog active...because that's what a blog is...a place to post about the things that happen in life.
Right?
Well, right now...it just branches off from that bit, but the whole idea was to post about stuff in life.
Right?
Anyways...that's that!
Thanks, and have a nice day!

I'm Gonna Wreck It!

Hello!
Looking from the title...you'd find out about my intentions.
I'm gonna wreck stuff!
No...I was kidding.
I watched Wreck-It Ralph in a mall here.
Well, people might just think of that too, because that character would say the whole "I'M GONNA WRECK IT!" bit whenever he appears in his game.
Yeah...the movie was good.
I could've just shed some tears, because the whole story probably moved myself a bit...
But I didn't.
Well, I'm just saying...the movie's good...my mother wants to buy the DVD once it gets into our country in high quality, because the copies come out after the movie comes in the theater...it wouldn't be in high quality, but it would show up.
That's all because they are pirated copies.
And any high-quality DVD copy here would also be a pirated copy of the real DVD.
Yeah...lots of stuff here are pirated...operating systems, programs...yeah, there's a lot.
Well, I guess that's that for this whole run...and I mean post...Have a nice day!

Home Alone

Hello!
Well...I'm just gonna get to the point.
I'm kinda gonna be at home...alone, for today and Saturday.
Yeah, my mother and father's gonna be off to Jakarta for a wedding event.
So, well...I'll just make myself at home, then.
I'd be fine, unless if someone's lurking in the shadows...
But I'm sure there won't be anyone to go on and get me.
Nobody here even knows my address.
Well, that's it...I just wanted to post stuff. Thanks, and have a nice day.

Another Cat Comes!

Hello!
I'm back again!
Today...my friend found yet another cat.
Strange, huh?
This has happened three times...
This time, it wasn't found in the gutter, but it was found in front of our unfinished laboratory!
This cat was pretty different with the cat we found a few days ago...this one's pretty active and doesn't sleep a lot in the class.
Yeah, it ran around...
And yes, we kept it in the class, like the cat my friend found a few days ago...the one named Garfield. Garfield truly has been taken by my friend and is now at her house.
This one had a pretty dark color tone to it, unlike Garfield, which seems to have a bright brown color.
This cat was named Mocha...a pretty common cute name for a cat, I guess...
Strange enough...Why are they always derived from anything related to food?
It makes no sense.
Mocha was also take by my friend, too.
In the class, Mocha pretty much exhibited a slight bit of aggressiveness sometimes...unlike Garfield.
This cat was like biting on my friend's hair sometimes...it sometimes uses its claw too.
That is seriously different from Garfield.
They also didn't keep it in a box -- they kept in in their drawer!
What a strange place to keep a cat, huh?
Well, for sure...let's just hope that these two cats -- Mocha and Garfield -- would get along with each other...and with their owner.
Okay, I guess that's it for this day...have a nice day!
